Dr. George W. Bishop is the founder and owner of The Animal Hospital at the Crossroads. He graduated from Ohio State University and started the practice in 1969. He is past president of the California Veterinary Medical Association, recipient of the American Animal Hospital Association's Outstanding Practitioner Award and member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Monterey Bay Area Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Bishop has been involved with the Lyceum of Monterey County since 1972, where he has been an instructor and member of the executive board.

Dr. Johanna Sherrill graduated from the University of Georgia with a DVM in 1995 and a Master's in Medical Microbiology in 1996. She then completed a general medicine and surgery internship in San Diego, an aquatic animal internship at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, and a residency in zoological medicine at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Dr. Sherrill became board-certified in zoological medicine in October 2005. She has worked as a relief veterinarian at many hospitals in the Monterey area (including daytime clinics as well as the Ryan Ranch Vet ER) for the past three years, joining the Animal Hospital at the Crossroads in April 2009. Johanna enjoys working with all animal species, even fish. Her hobbies include horseback-riding, yoga, water sports, singing, and playing guitar. A little known fact is that Johanna was a dolphin trainer prior to attending veterinary school. Johanna's main passion is her 3 year-old daughter (Alden) who is currently preparing herself for a career as the Little Mermaid!

With an experienced staff of over 20, the Animal Hospital at the Crossroads is committed to providing the best possible care for your pets.
